WHAT IS CITIZEN AMENDMENT BILL
An Indian parliament has passed a Citizen Amendment Bill and after signature of president it has become Citizen Amendment Act and it will be implemented all over the country.The following are the sailent features of this act.
(A) According to this bill the citizens who have migrated due to religious atrocities from the countries like Pakistan,Afghanistan and Bangladesh they will be given citizenship of India.The following religion will be covered under this act Hindu,Sikh,Christian,Parsi,Jain and Buddhist.All the illegal migrated people of these religion who have entered in Indian teritory till 31 Dec 2014 ,they can apply for Indian citizenship to Indian government.
Before this amendment bill to getting the citizensip period was 11 years, It means the immigrant must be reside in the country for the period of 11 years.After passing this bill time has reduced to 5 years.
(B) In citizen amendment bill it is also included that if any legal cases are pending against them regarding illegal immigrant, these cases will not hinder for getting the citizenship under these bill.
WHAT IS NRC
Basically NRC is the nationl register of citizens of India.Indian goverment is planning to implement NRC to all over the country to identify the illegal immigrants across the country.Presently it is implemented in Assam.In Assam NRC is implemented to those who are residing before 25 Mar 1971 or their precedessors came to reside in state before this date.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CITIZEN AMENDMENT ACT AND NATIONAL REGISTER OF CITIZENS OF INDIA
The basic difference between CAA and NRC is ,NRC is done not on the basis of religion but in CAA place is given Hindu,Sikh,Christian,Parsi,Jain and Budism.
WHY IN EASTERN STATES OF INDIA ARE OPPOSING THIS BILL
In eastern states of india like in Assam people are opposing this bill because they are in fear that in last decades the Hindus who have come from Bangladesh in huge numbers they will get citizenship of India.From the both community Muslim and Hindu are living illegaly in eastern sector of India in very large numbers.Their main concern is resources are limited and this resources are not enough to fulfill the native.

It is seen that in other part of the country is also people are prosting against this bill what is reason is behind this.There is anger that the legislation is discriminatory against muslim.The legislation aims to fast-tract citizenship for persecuted Hindus,Parsis,Sikhs,Jains,Christians and Buddhist who arrived in India from Bangladesh,Pakistan and Afghanistan For the immigrant religious minorities,the law effectively amends India's Citizenship act 1955,which required an applicant an applicant to have reside in India for ii years.
The violent protest of the most part of the country is due to not included Muslims In the list.For instance Rohingya Muslims fleeing from Myanmar will not be given Citizenship under the new law.Likewise, for Sri Lankan Tamils.
Violents protest is not the solution of the problem.The concern states and concerned people can aprroach to the government and soluion can be taken out.Violent protest damage the public property and casuality may also occur.Protest may be done in silent and peacefull manner to draw the attention of government but it shoud not be violen
